PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER (COMPOSITES)

American company based in Pensacola FL, USA.

Specialized professionals with extensive know-how from an industry management team that was born to be the benchmark in composites and wind power applications.

RESPONSABILITIES AND ACTIVITIES:

  • Lead the product development process of new parts using APQP methodology and develop PPAP documentation. Manage all activities that are part of the qualification process through the Product Quality Plan, lead PFMEA discussions and record Lessons Learned reports, Control Plans, dimensional reports, capability studies, MSA, special characteristics management etc.
  • Manage the product engineering activities, providing support and guidelines as needed related to composites and product development to the customer and internally, ensuring good product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in customer meetings and internal meetings related to product improvements, product quality and composites manufacturability.
  • Develop new suppliers based on customer requirements and special needs from each market. Provide technical support for existing suppliers and perform sub-supplier management using APQP;
  • Perform quotations of new composite products made by infusion and RTM process, making raw material calculation and developing process parameters and labor estimation.
  • Be responsible for defining product structure in SAP ERP system, managing the Bill of Materials and any potential changes during the product lifetime.
  • Define product requirements with quality and process teams providing customer inputs for work instructions and quality inspection.
  • Provide support to the production process of prototype and 0-series parts, defining product outputs and making the bridge with the customer in case there are questions, deviation requests or engineering changes to be implemented.

Required Knowledge

  • Plastic composites industry, manufacturing and experience on the factory floor
  • APQP Tool / Fluent English / SolidWorks / AutoCAD

Desirable Knowledge

  • Degree in mechanical, production, chemical, electrical engineering or degree in physics, mathematics
  • Green card

Place of Work and working hours

  • Pensacola, Flórida, US
  • Monday until friday – 8:00 am until 18:00 pm, 1 hour lunch time
